In the summer of 2010, a group of artists in my building began a project of making multiple small artworks.  We agreed that all pieces would be 6x6”, any media.  Since I work primarily in large format, horizontally- oriented landscapes, the small squares were a real challenge for me.  In the end, I decided to imagine myself in a location, slowly rotating, taking snapshots.  I tried to capture the feel of landscape, weather and light in those different directions.   To date I have made 53 of these little pictures.  Perhaps the paintings could be strung together to create a panorama of some vast open space?
