ter working in a fairly naturalistic palette, I wanted to experiment with the emotional resonance of color and deep color saturation. The effects of color seem almiost mystical to me, and I have the same reaction to trees. I wanted to combine that viscereal color experience with the suggestion of trees, both living and dead.
These pieces are a homage to the Fauvists,
Mark Rothko and the eucalypus trees of California that I so dearly love.
